This clay mask is one of Elizavecca’s most well-known products so as I love a lot of Elizavecca stuff I thought it was time I tried this out. This work like an ordinary clay mask, you leave it on for about three minutes then wash it off. Unlike most other clay masks though this bubbles up quite like foam.
From pretty much the moment I put this on my face it started to bubble, which was a very strange sensation. Around your eyes and lips I’d leave a big space because this does expand quite a bit as it bubbles. Because of its foaming effect I was worried that this might be a bit drying and straight after I washed it off I noticed my skin had gone very dry. It did leave my skin looking nice but I really had to nurse my skin back to health for the next few days afterwards as it was so dry. I have oily skin so I would usually avoid heavy creams but I actually ended up using some after this just to try and fix my skin.
While this mask is quite fun it left my skin feeling really dry and considering I have oily skin I imagine it would be even more so for dry skin. As much I wanted to like this product I wouldn’t use it again.
I bought a set of these masks on offer in TK Maxx a little while ago to try out as I’ve never used anything by this brand before. After I used the mask I felt that it actually left my skin feeling a bit dry and irritated. There was very little essence left after the recommended 15 minutes was up. Unusually for a sheet mask as well there wasn’t really any essence left in the packet after I’d taken out the mask. One thing I did notice straight away when I unfolded the mask is that it’s much thicker than a lot of other sheet masks.
After using the mask my skin looked a little red as well and lacked the usual nice glow you can get from a good sheet mask. I’ve used a lot of green tea products as it’s one of my favourite natural ingredients and I’ve never had any problems with dry or irritated skin before so I can only conclude that it is this particular mask that my skin is reacting to.
I played around this mask and tried varying the length of time it is left on. It is better if you leave it on for only five minutes but even then you really can feel the mask drying out and my skin still felt irritated and dry. So as far as my recommendation goes I personally wouldn’t buy this again and I would suggest that you avoid this if you have particularly sensitive skin. If you have less sensitive skin though you might find this works okay as I know some people do like this mask.
